These are a few of my favorite #quarantine things

Updated: Aug 11, 2020

· A warm, sweet cup of coffee every morning with the right amount of creamer

Roses, mandalas, green tea and my bare feet: these are a few of my favorite things

· Gloomy days, when staying inside is a little easier and the tone is set for a recharging nap

· Books that touch every fiber of your soul, developing your empathy and imagination

· Phone calls with old friends, new friends, colleagues and family members that make you smile a little wider, no matter where they are

· Take-out and delivery on days when you don’t feel like cooking

· Mandalas and intricate drawings that not only brighten days with their colors, but force you to stay present

· Binge-watching The Office, bringing humor to routinely situations, but reminding me how far we have come as a society

· Stretching with a good Julia Marie yoga session

· A well-deserved glass of wine come Friday at 6 pm

· The joy of sending someone cupcakes or flowers on the special moments

· Days when laughter comes a little easier

· Brazilian songs from Silva, Ivete Sangalo, Ruvel e Anavitória and/or any old axé

· The grey cozy sweater I used to wear to work every other week

· Hitting the “publish” button on a blog, be it personal or work-related

· Letting my hair breathe and realizing it doesn’t look so bad undone

· Feeling closer to God

· Sleeping in and cuddling

· A random desire to bake, even if it’s a basic -but tasty- banana bread

· Visiting places that once brought me joy on responsible night walks (wearing a mask, clearly!)

· The feeling of satisfaction after jogging, especially when the sight is as beautiful as Georgetown or Roosevelt Island

· Spring (although I must accept it was never my favorite season)

· Lying on the grass to read or to enjoy the evening breeze
